Kanye West‘s ultra light beams may have been Lamar Odom’s ultimate help within recoverysaving grace. On Sunday night’s episode of E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians (May 8), the first family of reality TV revealed how ‘Ye’s rapping apparently revitalized the former NBA star, who was hospitalized after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel last October.
“There was a moment when Lamar couldn’t really express himself and he couldn’t really talk, but he could hear what we were saying to him,” Kim said in the episode, according to Rolling Stone. “Kanye really felt we can cure him through music, like we can get him to talk. He would go to the hospital and he would rap and sing, and I think Lamar started to get his function back and started to talk once he started to listen to a lot of music.” Last December, a video surfaced on Twitter of Kim recalling how ‘Ye played his The Life of Pablo LP (then called Swish) in the hospital for Odom.
Kim also revealed in the episode that Odom had personally told her, “Kanye’s music helped me so much. That’s when I realized I could start thinking again and things were coming back to me and I could start articulating it.” Khloe weighed in, too. “He’s always like that,” she said. “He’s like, ‘Kanye saved me.'” Sunday night’s show also featured footage of Odom in the hospital.
