Recently in an interview with Hip Hop Fixx J-Hen gives details on new record and why he should be taken seriously:
1. How do you get people to take you seriously as a musician?
I respect my craft as an artist and by staying consistent with marketing and promoting quality music and content, all while being a positive role model. At the end of the day if I don’t take myself seriously no one else will. 2. What is the importance of the connections you make? How can you utilize them?
Connections are important because they are a necessity, and I utilize them by focusing on their strength. 3. If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose this career? Would you do anything differently?
Yes definitely, but this time around I would chase the music instead of chasing the girls. 4. What are typical mistakes people make when trying to pursue this career?
Believing the hype and not trusting the process. Artist want the instant gratification but not the hard work and dedication to achieve their career. 5. What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?
Stay consistent, stay positive, keep God First, keep positive people around you, stay focused and keep pushing, don’t give up until you achieve your dream.
6. How do you feel hip hop has changed over the years?
Hip Hop is about the Turn Up. In the past it was about lyrics, and now it’s about the turn up.
7. Tell us what inspired On To The Next:
Heartbreak, life lessons, growing and maturing inspired On To The Next.
